We mentioned earlier that in sentence analysis we deal with the seven functions, six primary materials and five secondary materials as below.
The seven functions:
Subjects (S), Verbs (V), Direct Objects (DO), Indirect Objects (IO), Subject Complements (SC), Object Complements (OC) and Adverbials (A).
The six primary materials:
Verb Phrases (VP), Noun Phrases (NP), Adjective Phrases (Adj.P), Adverb Phrases (Adv.P), Prepositional Phrases (PP) and Clauses.
The five secondary materials:
Determiners (Det), Heads (H), Premodifiers (PrM), Postmodifiers (PoM) and Prepositional Complements (PC).
